Funding secrets for social agencies

secrets of funding

Not -for-profit agencies around the Western Bay of Plenty can learn the secrets to getting funding at a SociaLink session next week.

SociaLink, the Western Bay umbrella group for social service providers and community organisations, is organising a seminar for not-for-profit groups which is held annually to help them gain funding from agencies.

Those attending the session – at Club Mount Maunganui on Thursday, March 4 from 9.30am to 4pm – can meet the staff from funders such as TECT, Bay Trust, Acorn, Lotteries and find out what they need to secure funding so they can offer much needed services to the community.

SociaLink general manager Liz Davies said attendees will learn all they need to know about filling out a funding application with grants expert Tracy Stockman, and learn more about Impact Investment from Bay Trust.

“A session called ‘Ripe for the Picking’ looks at your organisation through a donor’s eyes to make sure all your ducks are in a row. Kat McMillan will help get organisations prepped for big campaigns, and little ones,” she said.

“Liz Flaherty from SociaLink can help you prove your project has an impact – using your own data to make a case.”

She said the event is a great networking opportunity. Other similar events are likely to be held around the region throughout the year.
