Service Directories
A quick list of online directories to help you find services and community resources for those you support.
Here to Help U
A searchable directory of support services, including food support, mental health services, disability support, budgeting advice, employment assistance and more.
Users can search by location and type of support needed. Particularly helpful when responding to immediate needs or supporting someone to find local assistance.
Healthpoint
A national directory of health and wellbeing providers, including GPs, pharmacies, hospitals, specialists and community health services.
Listings include contact details, services offered and referral information. A useful tool when supporting people to navigate health services.
Family Services Directory
https://www.familyservices.govt.nz/directory/
A government hosted directory of social service providers across Aotearoa.
You can search by region and service type, including whānau support, addiction services, budgeting, housing support, counselling and more.
Citizens Advice Bureau
Free, confidential advice and information on a wide range of topics including employment, housing, consumer rights, legal processes and government services.
People can visit a local CAB office, call their free phone service, or use the online information hub.
WBOP Neurodiverse Services Map
Compiled in June 2024, this was a joint project between SociaLink and Spectrum Collective Takiwātanga, a starting point for the social, health and education sectors when directing enquiries for support around neurodivergency.
It includes providers supporting autism, ADHD and related neurodiverse needs, with information across diagnosis, education, whānau support, behaviour support and community connections.
A helpful tool for practitioners and organisations supporting neurodiverse tamariki, rangatahi and adults.
WBOP Community & Social Sector Organisations Dashboard
https://www.communityinsights.org.nz/wbop-community-and-social-sector-organisations/
This is compiled by our own Community Insights team, and combines data from the Charities Register and SociaLink’s own directory. The combination of these two datasets provide detailed interactive data about the size and nature of community and social sector organisations within the WBOP. We have further plans to develop this work.
Free Public Advocacy Service
https://freepublicadvocacyservice.co.nz/
This local service was created to provide support for people who are struggling to access services they need to connect with. This includes going with them to appointments, talking on the phone to agencies, and meeting with them 1 to 1 for guidance and advice.
Great for organisations supporting whānau or clients who need help navigating systems or accessing advocacy support.
