I’m a proud Mum of an amazing adult daughter who’s officially flown the nest. I’m happiest outside walking and soaking up the sun; at work if there’s a chance to take a meeting outside—or better yet, turn it into a walking meeting—I’m there. My partner and I recently swapped our lifestyle block for life back in Tauranga. I’m still getting used to town living again, but I can tell you this—not sitting in traffic every day is my new favourite hobby. Speaking of hobbies, I’m a seasoned thrift-shop treasure hunter. My daughter and I are partners-in-crime when it comes to opp shopping—every road trip is basically a tour of New Zealand’s finest second-hand stores. My partner has learned to accept that “we’re just popping in for a look” is code for “see you in an hour.” I’ve got a serious case of wanderlust too; exploring new places and cultures is always at the top of my to-do list.

Ko ahau te Kaiwhakahaere Matua o SociaLink Tūhono Pāpori
Previous to starting as the inaugural General manager of SociaLink eight years ago, I worked in social policy and was the Policy and Planning Manager at the Western Bay of Plenty District Council. Prior to that I was the Health Promotion Manager at Toi Te Ora – Public Health.
I worked for over ten years in adolescent health in Melbourne and was lucky enough to be seconded by World Health Organisation and NZ Aid to work in the Solomon Islands and Manila, Philippines.
I completed a Bachelor of Social Work at Massey University and a Masters of Social Work – Human Services Management at La Trobe University in Melbourne.
I am the Chief Executive of SociaLink Tūhono Pāpori and have the privilege of leading a team of talented and passionate staff who every day do their best to support and empower for-purpose organisations to deliver services to their communities.
I like to call myself a ‘jill of all trades, a master of none’, which I attribute to my low boredom threshold. I thrive in collaborating, identifying and trying out new initiatives in response to the needs of the social and community sector and the ever changing environment the sector operates in.
