My early years were spent near Oamaru, then my farming parents moved from drought-stricken North Otago to a lush farm on the lower Kaimais. I finished my schooling in Tauranga, lived and worked in Tamaki Makaurau/Auckland and returned to Tauranga Moana in 2015 with my sisters.

I lived in Tamaki Makaurau/ Auckland for many years in research, evaluation and policy advice-related roles in the fields of alcohol related harm reduction, health promotion and mental health services. I joined the SociaLink team in 2018. I have a Masters in Politics and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Health, but hands-on work over 40 plus (!) years has been the best teacher.
I work as a researcher (mostly qualitative), and policy analyst for SociaLink and our Community Insights team.
I do research related things like organising and reporting on our surveys of the sector. I support our advocacy efforts through researching and drafting submissions. I investigate the impact of government policy on the sector to inform our team work.
And I also enjoy helping organisations on research and evaluation related ideas you may have about your mahi.
I am very happy to be a sounding board and listen to your needs and support you where I can.
