As you may be aware, Bay Trust approached SociaLink Tūhono Pāpori about being independently evaluated by Ruth Hungerford from Momentum Research & Evaluation Ltd.
SociaLink was keen to ensure that we are delivering helpful, relevant services that are making a positive difference to the amazing mahi for-purpose organisations do every day in the Western Bay of Plenty.
Thank you so much, if you were one of the over 100 people who completed the survey or one of the 22 people interviewed from the sector with your thoughts about the work of SociaLink.
I am very pleased to say that the evaluation was very positive in terms of the satisfaction with the services SociaLink delivers which has given us direction as we update our strategic plan for the next four years.
The main messages were to focus on enhancing existing services, raising SociaLink’s profile (a lot of people know a bit about SociaLink but not everything we offer), strengthen cultural capability, capacity and impact measurement, and the perennial, “address the parking at The Kollective”.

"They are really connected to the social sector, and understand the needs and wants of various organisations, and that varies so much from very, very small organisations to bigger operations."

"There is no one else that could have provided the ‘one stop shop’ like SociaLink. You know the links that you have for mountain climbing – you have those links that you use? I see that as who SociaLink is like – the links that help you get up the mountain."

"They know the road map for success, so they help you from – establishing a new organisation – they have the resources, templates. They can educate you with the processes, how to engage with charity services and with funders, can help introduce you to funders, help you with governance. I feel like they hold my hand and walk me through it."
