Social agencies around the city will meet with Tauranga City Council’s commissioners next week to discuss the region’s social issues.
The meeting has been organised by The Kollective and SociaLink, the umbrella organisation for social agencies and charities in the Western Bay of Plenty and will be held at The Kollective, 17th Ave on Thursday May 13 from 4pm to 5.30pm.
The commissioners want to hear from the social and community sector about issues affecting communities and will talk about the draft Long Term Plan.
SociaLink general manager Liz Davies said the meeting will discuss how the social sector and council can make a difference in the community.
“This is a great opportunity for the social and community sector to let the commissioners know about the issues they are seeing in the communities they work in and discuss the role of the Council in addressing these issues.”
The city’s commissioners are Anne Tolley, Bill Wasley, Shad Rolleston and Stephen Selwood.
