SociaLink is pleased to announce the appointment of Liz Davies to the new position of General Manager of SociaLink.
SociaLink has been established to support local social services in doing what they do best; delivering much needed services to communities.
Over the past ten years Liz has built strong local networks with a range of organisations through her work at the Western Bay of Plenty District Council and at Toi Te Ora – Public Health Services. Prior to this Liz worked in Melbourne, in youth health, in a range of roles including stints at the World Health Organisation.
Liz is excited to have the opportunity to lead SociaLink.
She says she will enjoy working together with SociaLink’s board and partners to build a thriving social sector. Ensuring the social sector is recognised, valued and resourced to do its job is part of that mission. Social services are the glue in communities, often working behind the scenes, on the smell of an oily rag, supporting the most vulnerable.
SociaLink has strong support from local social services and philanthropic organisations, particularly TECT, Bay Trust and Acorn. SociaLink is excited to be participating in the development of the TECT community hub at the Historic Village which will provide a much needed boost for social services, offering space to enable organisations to work together and offer a range of support services.
