{"id":55710,"date":"2021-06-21T15:32:46","date_gmt":"2021-06-21T03:32:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/socialink.org.nz\/legacy\/?p=55710"},"modified":"2021-06-21T15:32:46","modified_gmt":"2021-06-21T03:32:46","slug":"seeking-new-socialink-trustees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/socialink.org.nz\/legacy\/blog\/2021\/06\/21\/seeking-new-socialink-trustees\/","title":{"rendered":"Seeking new SociaLink Trustees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Do you want to take on a governance role that has influence over strengthening and giving a voice for the social and community sectors in the western Bay of Plenty?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you want to join the SociaLink board at an exciting time as the Board embeds a \u2018Two House\u2019 governance structure to reflect our commitment to a Te Tiriti partnership?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SociaLink (Social Sector Innovation WBOP Charitable Trust) was set up in 2012 to address the need for an overarching body to raise awareness of, and support, the collective impact of the Social and Community Sector in Tauranga Moana.<\/p>\n<p>In 2019 the Board of Trustees unanimously agreed to move to a \u2018Two House\u2019 governance structure to reflect our commitment to a Te Tiriti partnership model. Having M\u0101ori and non-M\u0101ori voices in a more equitable relationship within the Board, whilst developing a trusting partnership to achieve consensus decision-making is a process that is not unique to SociaLink, but does reflect a relational approach that is increasingly being taken up by organisations across Government and Community sectors.<\/p>\n<p>We currently have 2 vacancies on the Board of 8, with another 3 trustees due to finish their terms (a maximum of 2 x 3year terms) in September 2021.<\/p>\n<p>We are therefore seeking expressions of interest for new voluntary trustees for both \u2018Houses\u2019 with the following skills and experience (some or all):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An understanding\/involvement of the social sector at grass roots or governance level<\/li>\n<li>An ability to demonstrate the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi<\/li>\n<li>An ability to think and engage strategically across social, community and business sectors<\/li>\n<li>Experience in business\/financial management or impact investment.<\/li>\n<li>M\u0101ori research skills or experience<\/li>\n<li>Marketing and communications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications close 2 July 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Please <a href=\"https:\/\/socialink.org.nz\/legacy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/SOCIALINK-TRUSTEE-EXPRESSION-OF-INTEREST-form13872-1.docx\">download and fill in the<\/a> Expression of Interest form, and send by email to <a href=\"mailto:office@socialink.org.nz\">office@socialink.org.nz<\/a>.
