What does this week’s Budget mean for the local social sector and the community?
The Western Bay of Plenty branch of the Child Poverty Action Group is hosting a breakfast next week for social agencies to hear the national organisation’s analysis of the Budget to be delivered this week.
Chief Imagination Officer of T\u016b Tuinga Wh\u0101nau Tommy Wilson will provide a local perspective on the budget.
CPAG is a charity founded in 1994 which works to eliminate child poverty in New Zealand through research, education and advocacy.
Spokesman David Riley said social agencies were hoping to see a significant increase in income support as a key way to deal with child poverty, and the many social issues facing the community.
The breakfast will be held on Tuesday May 25 from 7.30am to 9am.
