An Overview of the Findings

You are invited to join MP Jan Tinetti and other members of the social sector in the western Bay of Plenty for the launch of For the Greater Good – Mapping the Social Sector – an overview of the findings, which begins to tell the story of the social sector.

The people who are passionate about the health and wellbeing of this sub-region and its communities have, for several years wanted to convey the depth and complexity of its social sector.  The project reveals the generosity, passion, dedication and expertise of the people, from the volunteers to the workers in the social sector.  The people we met and the organisations they represent deliver over 700 services which contribute to ensuring that all of us get to participate in and enjoy the riches of this region.

This report aims to increase our understanding of the social sector, raise its profile and help inform stakeholders in the wider western Bay of Plenty about the work that the social sector does and it contributes to the region’s development and wellbeing.
